Chapter 30:

Keisuke watches the snowy scenery amazed and yells for Kyou to come. He tells him that since his head still hurts he should be quiet. Keisuke asks him if he can still go to the park since Kyou is not. Kyou says he can and Keisuke runs off, leaving Kyou looking for the blackboard. He then wonders if Nina has seen it yet. Meanwhile, Nina is trying to call Miyake but she keeps being sent to his voicemail so she begins to dress quickly as she wants to apologize to him. She rushes to Miyake when she suddenly bumps into him on the stairs. Miyake is surprised to see her there, but Nina immediately starts apologizing for yesterday, and Miyake interrupts her  by saying  “Good morning“ with a big smile. 

She continues saying she was planning to go to his house right now and she called his cell phone but he didn’t answer. He says he forgot it at home and Nina looks relieved. He then says that he came to speak to her in person and she looks nervous, asking him what about. He changes the subject saying “Let`s redo Christmas!” He says there wasn’t that feeling yesterday so if it is convenient for Nina to redo it. Nina agrees and says she has to dress more properly, but Miyake stops her saying that the way she looks now is fine because it’s better to have clothes that she can easily move in.

At the club, the members are asking Yuiko if Kyou's fever has gotten better. They begin to tease her asking if she went home with him. She's stunned by all the teasing and quietly says that she’s sick of those things and it would have been better if she ditched today as well. Then she tells them to go practice, when her ex suddenly shows up behind her saying, “If you were lonely last night you should have called me.”  The baseball club members were surprised to see Kumegawa. Yuiko irritatingly asks him what he came for. He says he was around the neighborhood so he decided to come visit them. Then as she tries to chase him off, he tells her that since she’s sullen nothing has changed. Yuiko is confused at first, however, he clears it up by saying that it seems she’s still the number two (to Kyou, meaning he considers Nina his number one). She raises her arm to slap him but he manages to stop her. He then asks her, “If I become serious, will you take me back?” She is left shocked whereas Kumegawa takes off. Behind her, the members are talking about him (Kumegawa).  They’re surprised he still doesn't play ball since he’s already a university student and wonder if something is wrong with him. 

The scene changes to the playground where Nina is praising Miyake’s strike, but he says it’s still nothing like Chris’s. She asks him if he’ll play in the tournament but he declines with a laugh. Then he silently says that he practiced after she came (last night) and when she asks him what he just said he replies with a forced smile, “I didn’t say anything.” They both continue to play all sorts of games. They end with basketball where Miyake shows some good moves and Nina comments on how good at basketball he is after all. She then challenges him and claims that she`ll take the ball from him and he asks her if she’s really capable of that.

She tries hard but finally drops on the floor saying she thought he’d go a bit easier on her. Miyake asks if they should call it a day and she yells for him to wait a little because she’s all dried up. Miyake suddenly exclaims like he forgot something and pulls out a gift. He places a hair pin on her hair and she happily asks him what is it (since she didn't see it) and he tells her it’s a Christmas present. She says she wants to see it so they should go to someplace with mirrors next and he, looking at her smiling, says yes, although somehow looking like he’ll cry. She then notices a chance, grabs the ball and scores and happily jumps asking if he saw that. She then asks him if he can come to her place because she also has a present for him.  Out of the nowhere, Miyake hugs her and says, “Uehara, let’s break up.” Nina is taken aback. He continues saying that he’s fine as long as she is laughing, therefore she should go to the person that makes her laugh, implying Kyou. She’s confused and tries to explain about Kyou, but he interrupts her saying that even though he was with her, no matter how much fun they had, and even though he was said it was fine, it took her just a second to go to his (Kyo) side, and that just broke his heart. (And mine).  The chapter ends with Miyake parting while leaving Nina alone on the playground.

Translator’s Comment: WOW!! What to say...very touching. Actually, I like how it turned out… Now, maybe Nina will decide to win Miyake over. Or maybe she’ll go to Kyo which would be boring. Well, at least it's exciting to wait for next chapter because it already became pretty boring.

Chapter 29:
Notice: This chapter is practically all picture scenes with little dialogue; therefore, the summary will be short. The focus will be more on the slides.

The chapter starts with Miyake's mom and sister finally leaving the house, still insisting that he come with them. As they leave, Miyake quickly continues cleaning and watching the clock while wishing 7pm would come sooner. As Kyo pleads Nina to stay, she's thinking to herself that she doesn't understand anything. She's preparing ice while remembering Yuiko's words. She wonders if she really hasn't noticed anything and recalls Kyou's hug and the time he rejected her-  “I can't see you in that way.“ In complete puzzlement, she storms out of the house. Miyake, on the other hand, is waiting for her. He wonders if she’ll be late and hopes she hasn't gotten lost.  She finally comes and Miyake invites her in because it’s cold, however, Nina doesn’t come in. Then he notices she’s wearing her pajamas and she begs him to forgive her, but she has to return home.  She explains to him that Kyou fainted and that he has a high fever but nobody is there so she can’t leave him alone. As she cries, he takes her arm and asks if it is bad if Nina doesn't go there. She’s speechless and blushes. Miyake gives up and says he’s joking and that she can go back. Nina runs away to Kyou with his words on her mind- “Nina, don’t go.” 

The scene changes to Kyou having a dream about kissing Yukio. Then Nina appears saying it feels unpleasant and wakes up. Keisuke rushes to his mom to tell her that big brother has woken up. He looks at the time surprised at how long he slept. His mother begins preaching about how he should have phoned her if he felt sick. He’s shocked when he realizes that he really fainted and his mom tells him to get a hold of himself already. As she is leaving his room, she tells him to make sure to thank Nina. Then he notices what’s written on the blackboard: “Since I'm close, call me if you need anything.” He jumps of the bed while his mom yells at him for moving so fast and runs to Nina's where he sees her sleeping. He tries to get her to the bed to sleep normally and recalls the times she called him Kyou-chan so many times and hugs her tightly. She finally wakes up and first notices that it’s snowing, she then notices the blackboard: “Thank you” – Kyou.  The chapter ends with Nina crying while thinking to herself, “Why now…?”

Chapter 28:

The chapter begins with Kyo looking at Yuiko with a painful expression while murmuring her name. Meanwhile, Miyake and Nina are walking, commenting on how today second semester has finally finished, and that after the new year they will be taking the exams right away. Miyake then comments on how the weather is getting cooler. Nina agrees saying her hands are freezing. Miyake takes her hand in his, to warm her up, and tells her that he can't wait for December 24th. Nina nods. 


At home, Nina's dad happily remarks that tomorrow they can all be together at home for Christmas, making her nervous. Her mom interferes saying that Nina already has other plans which shocks her dad. He asks her who's she going with, and Nina replies that it's with Nochan and the guys. Dad is thinking who Nochan is and when her mom tells him it is her lady friend from school he just wishes them a nice time. Kyo's mom says that only they (parents) will attend the Christmas party tomorrow because Keisuke is going with Mayu to a party and Kyo has club activities in the morning and is then going with Yuiko somewhere. In the meantime, Nina thinking about Miyake’s words “I can’t wait.”

She’s thinking in her room- “Finally, tomorrow…“ and the scene changes to Miyake’s. While his family is packing, they ask him if he’s sure he doesn’t want to tag along. He says he decided to stay home and study (he he)and his sister teases him because she knows he’s planning to invite a girl to his house. He blushes.

Now at the baseball club, a guy comments on how there is no Yuiko today. He asks Kyo if he knows about her whereabouts to which Kyou replies, “ I don’t know.” The other guys tease him to let it slide today, because it is a special day. But he’s worried about Kyou since he seems a little odd. He then notices that Kyou is running a fever. He yells for the manager to tell the coach that Kyo has to go home. 

At home, Nina is preparing dinner, just as her parents are leaving. She remembers their (Miyake’s and hers) agreement at 6 pm, Miyake said they’ll take pizza and she said she’ll make a side dish for it. At Miyake’s,  he’s cleaning while nervously watching the time.  Then he asks his mom if they’re leaving yet, to which his sister replies that they’re still packing. His mom notices how it’s rare for him to be cleaning, and his sister starts teasing him again that it must be a girl coming. Apparently, he phones Nina asking if it is ok to come little later, she agrees and tells him that she will come at 7pm. Meanwhile, Kyou has just arrived home, and is trying to find a medical thermometer to measure his temperature. He remembers about the mornings conversation: When one of his friends tell him to let it slide because it’s special day, then Yuiko’s words that Nina is spending Christmas at her boyfriend’s house, lastly he recalls the hug Yuiko gives him from behind and all of the times they’ve spent together.  Just then, the thermometer beeps, and it turns out he has a fever of 39.7 degrees. He is shocked and begins looking for medicine. Nina suddenly hears something but doesn`t notice it’s Kyo, and looks at herself at the mirror. She then decides to head off to Miyake’s place. However, just as she’s leaving she hears a sound and goes to the balcony yelling for Keisuke. Since there is no answer, she goes across the balcony and sees Kyo lying on the floor. She yells his name, trying to ask him what happend when she notices his fever. She decides to call his mom and tries to find the phone when suddenly Kyo says, “Don’t go..” and Nina replies he got it wrong (asuming he thinks she is Yuiko). She borrows his cell phone and calls Yuiko asking her to come because he’s sick. Yuiko is first surprised by the call her and replies , “Why should I go?” Nina is surprised and tells her that Kyo is calling for her. Yuiko replies that it’s a lie because he dupmed her so there is no way he would call her now.  She continues telling Nina if she’s interest in that conversation she overheard him and Yuiko the other day (when he says he was the one considering them siblings). The chapter ends with Nina being completely stunned by the situation, as Kyo calls out to Nina not to go.

Chapter 27: Christmas Eve is Approaching (Shopping with my Older sister?)

Narration: Even in my dreams, my heart is throbbing.

The chapter continues from the previous in which Miyake hastily runs towards Nina when he notices Kyou and hugs her.  While hugging, he comments on how her face feels cold. They look at each other blushing. The scene changes to one of Kyou's friend telling Yuiko about Kyou's whereabouts. He tells her that Kyo had to go someplace, and Yuiko comments that she'll wait for him at school until he's back. At that moment, Kyosuke appears with a dejected expression on his face. The scene changes once again to a cute couple kissing. Kyosuke is completely drenched in rain which surprises his friend, since Kyou took an umbrella with him before departing. Yuiko shares her umbrella, preaching he'll get sick. He dolefully apologizes and says someone else borrowed his umbrella. Flashback:  Nina and Kyo are in school. Nina tells him about Keisuke wanting them to reconcile their friendship. She tells him how it really is unnatural for them to avoid each other. She then rejects his offer, and tells Kyou that she’s waiting for Miyake. He’s surprised at how happy she is waiting for Miyake and ends up giving her his umbrella saying that she’ll be needing one if that guy (Miyake) doesn`t show up soon. End of flashback. Yuiko is still all worked up and gives Kyo a towel. Kyo tells Yuiko that he’s fine, he`ll just borrow the towel. Yuiko is shocked, and tells Kyou’s friends that Kyou and her won’t be tagging along. Kyo interupts her and says that there’s no need to join him. Yuiko gives off a displeased look while Kyou is using her towel.

Now Nina is shopping when suddenly Yuiko sees her. Nina is all worked up when Yuiko comments on how it’s rare to see her in such place. Yuiko, realizing that Nina is shopping for her boyfriend’s Christmas gift, offers to help. She suggests a scarf, a pair of gloves, or if he’s fashion-conscious maybe a perfume. She also suggests that if he’s prepping for exams she should get him a lucky charm. Embarrassed, Nina replies that if she needs help, she’ll consult her. Yuiko then asks her if she has any Christmas plans with her boyfriend. Nina replies that she was asked to come to his house. Nina then asks if she has plans with Kyo. Evading the question, Yuiko asks her if she has prepared herself for the event and starts blabbing about underwear (How white underwear is the standard color etc.) Then she asks Nina what size she is. Embarrassed, Nina says she’s a size A. She then tries to explain that it’s not what she thinks, she’ll just be going to his house, but not to stay over. Yuiko asks her if she really believes that, and exclaims- “Are you an idiot?” 

Yuiko seems irritated, like she’s had enough, and asks her if she really thinks that a guy won’t think of that when it’s just the two of them alone in a room. She continues blabbing. Meanwhile, Nina recalls the time Miyake said, “Nina I don`t want to let you go."

The scene changes to Miyake tagging along his friend to go shopping. Just when they’re leaving, Yuiko shouts, “If you’re troubled, white will do!” Nina tries to calm her down, but she adds that her boyfriend will be happy for sure. Then Miyake shows up greeting Nina, while she’s holding a pair of bras.  She then runs out of the store out of embarrassment. Miyake is surprised at what just happened, and while blushing hard, comments to himself that this is really bad. On the other hand, Nina is running wondering what to do.

The following day, Yuiko is riding a bike and meets Kyo, who still looks gloomy. She greets him and invites him to ride the bike together. Yuiko yawns and Kyo warns her about falling down. Yuiko then comments about how she met Nina yesterday. He replies that that it looked like Nina wasn’t home. Yuiko says she was shopping for her boyfriend’s present.  She tells him that the present was a pair of underwear since she’s going to his place for Christmas. Shocked, Kyo almost runs over a man on the road, much to his distress.  Yuiko exclaims that that surprised her and asks if he’s alright when she sees how much that hurt him. She grabs onto him and tells him to cut it out.  The chapter ends with Yuiko telling Kyou that it’s good that Nina has someone she likes, and that Kyousuke should start relying on her (Yuiko) more.
