The super popular series is revived for the first and last time!

Their laughter-filled world became just the two of them at that moment.

Dreaming Sun: The Extra Door

I have someone who loves me, Zen thinks. He turns as someone calls his name. It's Saeko. She wants to know if they can go to the portable classroom together. It's okay with Zen and he offers to carry the dictionary for her. She says that it's heavy, but it doesn't bother him. Saeko happily thanks him and he smiles and thinks that she always looks happy. Zen realizes that the dictionary is pretty heavy and struggles to carry it. He wonders why he didn't fall in love with Saeko. Someone else calls his name, and Zen blushes as he turns to look. It's Shimana. He starts to ask her what she wants, while thinking why did he fall in love with her. Shimana grins and tells him never mind. Zen is aggravated and asks what that was all about. Saeko calls her name as Shimana turns away not wanting to bother them. Shimana tells Zen to treat Saeko nicely and do things like carrying heavy books for her. He shouts that he's doing that right now and wants to know what she wanted. Shimana makes a face at him and says that it's nothing. He knows that Shimana is trying to push him and Saeko together. Saeko laughs at Shimana's face and exclaims that she's cute. Zen again wonders why he fell in love with Shimana and wants her to stop meddling. Of course he would rather be with Shimana than Saeko. He realizes that he still hasn't given up on Shimana. Why is he so happy to hear her call his name? Is he her dog? Zen drops to the floor in disgust as Saeko asks him if the dictionary is too heavy. Dumbass! He thinks to himself. I'm supposed to change! I need to forget about her! I need to move forward! Saeko asks him if he wants to eat lunch together. He says sure, he will eat lunch with her everyday for many years. Saeko happily asks him if that's true and will he be her husband? Zen looks amused and thinks that Saeko has a gentle smile.

Zen and Saeko are happily eating lunch together. Saeko blushes as she tries to ask Zen a question. She wants to know what his favorite foods are. He's a little surprised so she apologizes for asking him a weird question. She's nervous. Zen thinks that she's trying hard to find things to talk about and he's good at putting people at ease, so he tells her that he likes sweet things and eats them a lot. Recently he's starting liking cream puffs. Saeko happily replies that cream puffs are her favorite. Surprised, he also says that he likes cookies with chocolate, like a panda. Saeko also likes that kind of cookie. Zen then tells her that he really likes fried food. Saeko gives him a big smile and says that she has some in her lunchbox. She hold out a fork with a piece and asks him if he wants to try it. Zen blushes and wonder if it's okay. Saeko blushes too and tells him that it is. Both are kind of nervous. All of a sudden, a group of Saeko's fans show up calling her name and wanting to know what she's eating today. They think she looks really cute. They ask who's the dog sitting next to her. Zen is miffed about being called a dog. Saeko yells that they're disgusting and should go away. The guys are shocked and Zen laughs to himself thinking they're going to run away. However, the guys are excited that she yelled at them and think her angry face is cute. They want to make her more angry because they're masochists. Saeko looks perturbed as they ask her if she will get mad at them for calling her by her first name. With an evil look, Zen answers for her that he will get mad and don't call her "Saeko". Saeko looks at him in surprise as he tells her that they should go somewhere else since it's noisy. Zen wonders why he's trying to show off, but he's irritated that they want to make her angry and thinks that the landlord would be able to chase them off (with just a look) if he were in the same situation. Zen, grabbing Saeko's hand, apologizes and dashes off, while the group of guys angrily yell after him. Zen thinks that he's not cool, but Saeko looks happy. Zen asks her why she's so mean to guys and she tells him that her dad told her to act that way ever since she was little. Zen says that her dad just worries about her but she thinks it's really annoying. Saeko tells him that he's different though. Zen glances at her. She won't be like that with the person she likes. She gives him a big smile as he thinks that no matter what he does, she's always happy with him while he's always been desparately trying to make Shimana happy.

At the house, Asahi tells Shimana that there was phone call from the landlord. Shimana, sitting next to Zen by the Christmas tree, looks up happily in anticipation. Asahi says that the landlord won't be able to return home for Christmas, and both Shimana and Zen look shocked. Shimana is sad but Zen thinks that he shouldn't try and comfort her anymore because Shimana is with the landlord. Plus if he does something tactless, the landlord will kill him. He's going to leave it be! However, when he sees Shimana walking dejectedly in front of him, he can't leave her alone. He asks why is she acting so down. Shimana replies that she's not feeling down, she's feeling good. Zen tells her that he will treat her to 100 yen hamburgers, but she says not to worry about her and go to Saeko. He tells her that he can't leave her alone. Shimana tells him that she will be happier if he leaves her alone and gets along well with Saeko. Zen looking irritated, tells her "fine!", and walks away.

At the hamburger place, Saeko tells Zen that she thinks Shimana is acting like that for his sake, so he can move forward. Zen looks thoughtful. Shimana is acting more cold towards him on purpose. She's making him angry on purpose. She's making ugly faces at him on purpose. He knows that it's all for his sake, but... Saeko tells him that she knows even if he wants to answer, he can't, and that he's heartbroken. Zen looks down with a tear in his eye, and tells her, "yeah." Saeko looks at him sadly. Zen thinks that he knows all this already and if it continues, he will lose Saeko too. Zen laughs a little and says that he's uncool and cries too easily. Saeko thinks he's crazy and says that he's the coolest guy ever, as she wipes his face. Zen thinks that when he's with Saeko, there are no painful feelings and he feels all warm inside. Shimana is cold, and when they're together, it's painful. Plus she makes ugly faces. Zen thanks Saeko and tells her that he will walk her home.

At her house, Saeko asks Zen if he has plans for Christmas Eve. He tells her that they're having a party at his house and then invites her to come. She looks surprised and wonders if it's okay. He says that there will be people there who she doesn't know, but if it's fine with her... She happily says that she will definitely go. Zen smiles back at first and then his face changes to shock. Saeko's dad opens the door with an evil look on his face. He creepily welcomes her home. Zen finds out that the scary guy is her dad. Saeko wants to know what her dad is doing home so early. She shouts at him not to watch and that he's annoying. She yells for her mom. Her dad puts his arm around Zen and accuses him of being overly familiar with Saeko. Zen apologizes. Her dad goes on to say that Zen is standing too close to Saeko. He needs to be at least 1 meter away. Her dad scarily asks if Zen understands, while Saeko wants to know what he's talking to Zen about. Her dad tells Saeko that he also wants to talk to her while she argues with him. The door slams as they go into the house, leaving Zen outside, looking terrified and sweating profusely. Saeko's dad reminds Zen of the landlord's dad, but he hopes that since it's Saeko's dad, he will be nice like Saeko. Zen is looking forward to Christmas Eve.

At school, Zen excitedly tells Saeko that the Christmas party starts at 7 PM tomorrow so he will pick her up around 6 PM. Saeko, with her back to him, says that she will be waiting for him. Zen stops to look at her and exclaims that even Saeko is avoiding him now. She denies it, while still turned away. He grabs her shoulder and shouts at her to tell him what's wrong. She turns to look at him with a dejected look on her face. He notices that her eyes are swollen and wonders if she's been crying. She tells him that she fought with her dad, and he knows that it's because of him. Zen apologizes and asks Saeko to tell her dad that he doesn't have to worry, Zen won't get close to Saeko. She looks at him in surprise and Zen mentions the 1 meter rule. Saeko doesn't want that, and Zen doesn't want to make her mad either. He starts to walk away, but she tells him not to listen to her dad and grabs him from behind. Saeko clings to Zen and pleads with him. Zen is frozen in shock. Saeko, realizing what she's doing, pushes him away and apologizes. Both of them are blushing. Saeko runs off as Zen stands there, thinking that he gets it and she's not happy. He wonders what he should get her for a Christmas present. He wants to get her something that will make her really happy.

Zen rings the doorbell at Saeko's house. She comes out to see him and he notices that she doesn't look happy. Saeko apologizes and says that she can't go to the party. Her dad told her no. Zen wonders why it's like this when she's the one who told him not to listen to what her dad says. She gives him a present and tells him to open it later during vacation. She goes back into the house, leaving Zen standing outside. He realizes that they're not going to see each other during the winter break. Saeko's dad asks her if Zen has left. Saeko, crying, doesn't answer him. Her dad looks a little worried. Saeko's mom grabs him and yells at him for making Saeko cry. Her dad says that he's the one who feels like crying. Saeko used to tell him that she liked him the best. He feed her, carried her, took care of her. He'd be damned if he's going to hand her over to some clueless kid. Her mom tells him to think about what would make Saeko the most happy.

Zen is wondering how Saeko is doing. He really wants to see her, really wants to be with her. He wonders why it's always like this for him. He opens Saeko's present and it's cream puffs with panda decorations. Saeko remembered their conversation at lunch about what he likes to eat. Zen can't believe she made them for him since they're hard to make. He eats one. It's delicious! He makes up his mind. It's okay if he's rejected, in pain, and uncool. He just doesn't want Saeko to have sad memories. He knows what will make Saeko the most happy! At Saeko's house, her dad opens the door as Zen yells out, "I've come to pick up Saeko! I think Saeko has been crying because she was excited about today. And me too! I think it's really fun when we're together! I want Saeko to be happy today! So I came to pick her up!" Saeko, crying, can hear Zen. Her dad gives in and tells Zen that her curfew is 10 PM. Zen stares at him. He can't believe it and happily calls for Saeko. Saeko has a huge smile on her face. Zen thinks that seeing Saeko's smile makes him happy. He likes her. Maybe he's liked her for awhile. Zen sees the landlord on the street and asks him what he's doing since he said he wouldn't be returning. The landlord replies that he was let go early, so he immediately got on a plane to make it back. Zen says that he probably wants to use his appearance as a surprise present for Shimana. The landlord looks sheepish. The landlord tells Zen that it looks like he's doing well and gives Zen money so he and Saeko can get something to eat. As Zen and Saeko are walking, she pulls out a bunch of handwarmers from her pocket. Her dad put them in there for her. Zen smiles and says that maybe her dad is trying to get in the way and this is a form of protection. Saeko is confused by his comment. Zen grabs her hand and says that it could be protection from something like this. He tells her that he has her present at the house. She's happy about it. He comments that he can't win against her present though.

Chapter 47 (End)

Taiga opens the door and greets the trio, “I’m home.” Asahi, Zen and Shimana look at him with much surprise and astonishment.

They then exclaim, “WHO IS THIS~~!!?”

It turns out everyone was complaining about Taiga’s newly-styled fringe, and were making fun of it.

Shimana: “What is with that fringe!! It’s so weird!!”
Zen: “Did something happen during those 2 years between you and the fringe!! It’s so weird!!”
 Asahi: “Hahahaha fringe (Laughs) Weird~”

Taiga ranted back, “You guys were harping about the fact I changed or got fatter or something back then when I was still walking towards the house right!! So that’s why I wanted to change something and show you guys! Back then! Right there! With the fringe~ Let me say this first – 2 years would not morph an old man into a completely different person okay!”

Shimana then explains, “But we do not want Ooya-san to change at all~”

Taiga goes on to yell at Zen and Asahi for paying him a visit at all because he had been waiting for their arrival for ages. Zen tells Taiga that, “We thought it would be enough to meet just once…”

“What is up with this reunion, it’s not touching at all!! I get dissed the moment I come back!? Am I the only one who was looking forward to this!?”

Shimana smiles to him, “We’ve been waaaiiiting for you all these while, all of us.”

Naoki makes a brief appearance and remarks, “Well~~ I think the bond between you guys seems to have increased exponentially~~ As long as you guys tell me to stay here a little longer (I will) “

Taiga responds abruptly, “I see. Thanks for the past 2 years. You can head home now.”
Zen, “Although we were not too close, I had a lot of fun!”
Shimana, “Thank you so much Miura-san!”

Ooya-san is finally back.
I could see Ooya-san blushing a little.
I have soo much to say to Ooya-san!

Taiga did some catching up with the trio – Asahi is now a 2nd year University student; Zen expresses that he’s not going to university but is working on a manga. Shimana on the other hand…
Shimana shows Taiga her results from the mock test, and Taiga commended that Shimana has done extremely well.

“I have been working very hard that’s why. I want to go to the same university as Ooya-san, that’s why I’ve been cramming all day. There is no dream that can’t be fulfilled, as long as you don’t give up.”

Taiga starts tearing up at Shimana’s words.

“I am…The truth is, I wanted to tell you not to go for university if it’s too hard on you, but I am so glad to see you working so hard…”
“Shimana will definitely make it to university!” Taiga smiles.
“Yeah!”
Zen and Shimana hug Taiga, bear-style, “Welcome home!”

The truth is, we were all very excited that Ooya-san is finally back.
We shall remain like this until the end of time.

I still remember that promise made back then.
(Shimana recalls her promise made to her family about getting married to Taiga if they are still in love with one another 2 years later.)

Taiga and Shimana pay a visit to the Kameko household to seek approval for their marriage. Shimana’s dad uttered with a straight face, “No.” Taiga and Shimana gulped in horror.
“Hahaha, I was joking.” Shimana’s dad cracked up.
Taiga then expresses his love for Shimana, “I too sometimes think that it’s too soon for us to get married now, but I always lose to Shimana in this… Shimana is the most treasured person in my life right now. I will assume whatever responsibility from now onwards, and protect Shimana with my life.”
“Please take card of my child, “ Shimana’s dad gave them the green light after hearing Taiga’s words.
Taiga walks past the altar and asks Shimana, “Ah, that’s Shimana’s mum. Can I pay my respects to her?”
“Sure!”

Shimana’s dad calls her over and reveals to her that Taiga had been contacting him frequently and tells him not to worry, and updates him on what his daughter has been up to, whether she’s troubled or down. “Sometimes he says things like, ‘I’m so sorry to have fallen in love with Shimana.’ If it’s Fujiwara-kun, I can entrust you to him. I am actually worried if you would be of a trouble to him, but I am sure Mum would have liked him as much I do. ”

Shimana pops by as Taiga is still keeping his palms together, praying in front of the altar. “What are you saying to my mum? You seem like you have a lot to say.”
“It’s a secret.”
“Are you telling her ‘Please have her dressed up in a white kimono during the wedding ceremony’ ? I am saying this first, I am definitely donning a wedding dress!!”
“NO!! A white kimono is so much cuter!!”
“Eww!”
(T/N : White kimono is a more traditional way. Shimana prefers a Western wedding.)

I can’t believe that this is happening.
That the both of us are coming over here again.
I would not have imagined this scenario back then.
Ooya-san has been watching over me all this while ever since we met.

We then shift our focus over to Asahi who bumps into a girl while reading his book. She apologises and returns his notebook. Asahi looks at her in a déjà vu manner before he dials his cell phone.

“Hello Manami? Yeah I’m at the university now. I just met someone that looked a lot like you.”
Asahi picks up the swapped notebook. “ But she’s one year younger than I am. “

Back at the house, Zen flashes his published serialized manga to Taiga with pride. Zen summarises the plot of his manga – about a Kungfu expert named Zen who pits his skills together with a bunch of comrades to save the princess. He looks at Zen’s drafts for the next chapter and notices that Zen included a few characters – Taiga’s mum (who is portrayed as a tiger) and Taiga (who is portrayed as a gorilla). The princess happens to be Saeko.

Meanwhile, Shimana is smiling contentedly at her marriage registration papers. “ Once we submit this, we are legally husband and wife right!?” Shimana clutches the papers excitedly. “I will be Fujiwara Shimana! It sounds so funny!”

“They feel like some kind of treasure.” Shimana beams back.
“It’s just a mere sheet of paper. “Taiga responds coldly.
“You shouldn’t treat me so coldly when we are going to be husband and wife. There’s no love at all.”
Taiga then asks Shimana, “ In that case, should we sleep together tonight?”
Shimana blushes in embarrassment. She walks to the door, “I…I need to cram for my entrance exams!! No can do, good night!!”

Taiga gets a little depressed hearing that answer.

If I sleep with Ooya-san beside me, my heart will probably thump so much that I will lose sleep!!

During the day of the entrance exams, Asahi prepares box lunches for Taiga and Shimana as they will be taking the exams together. Zen gives them amulets – Taiga gets a “Gorilla” version of it. Shimana wants Taiga to give her a hug so that she can calm down as she was feeling jittery about the paper. Taiga was reluctant at first, but gives in after a while.

“It will be fine. All the best.”

For the person who has been rooting for me has always been Ooya-san.
For the person who has been watching over me has always been Ooya-san.
If I work extremely hard, he would always…
Ooya-san would be treating me in the gentlest way possible.

We see Taiga snoozing outside of the classroom – he completed the paper way before the candidates and was waiting for Shimana to be done, lol.

The results were released some time after, and both Taiga and Shimana got into the same university. Shimana sheds tears of joy, unable to believe that she made it. She hugs Taiga and was glad that she finally achieved the dream of entering the same academic year as Taiga in university.

Mum,
I will become a bride.
Somehow, this sounds a little farfetched to you right.

Mum,
Please watch over us from heaven.

We zoom into the wedding ceremony, with Taiga looking extremely awkward in a suit (he does not look comfortable in it, although I think he looks completely hot) Zen’s brother and Naoki teases him in that outfit, “What’s with that!! You do not pull out that suit too well!”
“That’s why I was saying, I want the ceremony to be done at the shrine…”

After much commotion, Asahi expresses, “I really want to see Shimana in wedding dress.” Taiga rebuts, “Not really!!”

Shimana walks out with her dad, looking extremely beautiful in her white wedding dress. Taiga is stunned at how mesmerizing she looks and flusters away.

Somehow this really feels like a dream.
Right beside me, there’s Ooya-san.

They exchanged vows, to which the pastor says, “Now, for the kiss that will seal the vows.”
“EH!? Wwaait a second, there was no such thing during the rehearsal?!” Taiga panicks.
“I changed it the last minute, “Shimana smiles sneakily.
“YOU!!”
Taiga looks at Shimana awkwardly and gives her a forehead peck. Shimana then whispers, “It would have been better if you did it on the lips…”

Saeko and Miku walks over to congratulate Shimana, to which Miku says to Shimana, “ The kiss was a little disappointing~ “ and Shimana totally agrees. They knew Taiga was eavesdropping so they made their voices louder.

Shimana then tells Saeko, “Do invite me over when it’s Saeko and Zen’s wedding ceremony okay!”
“W…What are you saying!! Right, Saeko!!”
“Y…Yeah!! We are not even going out right now!” Saeko replies.  Shimana is a little surprised at the revelation. Zen pulls Saeko to a quiet corner and asks, “What did you mean by that…? I thought we were already going out.”
“But…Zen-kun never once confessed to me…so..”
“…”
“But…well…we went on a few dates. And we even held hands.”
“But…I have yet to hear Zen’s true feelings about it…”
“…”
“I want to know!” Saeko raises her voice a little.
“…Saeko, I am really glad to have met you! I am extremely in love with you! I will be the one that will put on the wedding dress for you! So please go out with me!” Zen confesses to Saeko, at last.
“Yes!” Saeko hugs Zen happily and gives him a peck on the cheek. Apparently, almost everyone was hiding behind the bush, watching the two of them work things out.

Surely, everyone wants to be happy.

“Ooya-san, I was thinking that maybe I should be a wedding planner next time! I want to be world’s number one wedding planner for Zen and Asahi’s wedding ceremonies and give them as much happiness as I can.”
“Hmm~~ Sounds like a great idea. You should do it.” Taiga encourages her.
“The photographer is so slow. “Shimana complains.
“Yeah.”
“The sea looks so beautiful.”
“Yeah.”
“I am so happy now.”
“Yeah.”
“ I am extremely happy right now~ “

Taiga looks back, this time he says absolutely nothing and smiles at Shimana.

“There is something I want to tell you, I still have things I have not told you.”
“EH!? What is it!?”
“I like that part of you. That you express whatever feelings you are going through to me.”
“I…have completely no idea what is going through in a woman’s head, but whenever I look at your facial expressions, and the fact that you tell me properly every single time whether you are happy or you like a particular something. I am very happy that I found someone like you and I really love you.”

Shimana couldn’t get used to Taiga being so frank, and asked if anything went wrong. “I was wondering since Shimana’s mom left the world so quickly, I was thinking she must had a lot of unfinished business here and felt very regretful about not doing it.” Shimana started tearing up when Taiga talked about her mum.

Even when I have not told a single person about this…but even without me saying it out, Ooya-san was always able to pick out the exact feelings I was going through.

“So if there’s anything, just say it out. I will listen to it, no matter what it is.”
“I…wanted the kiss to be on my lips…” Shimana tears up in joy.
“Ohh..Okay we’ll do it when we are home. I too, have something to ask of you.”
“What is it?!”
“First things first, we are legally married, so I want us to sleep together. And I want us to dine together during meals. We should eat okonomiyaki once a week. On rest days, we should go on dates, even if we turn old. “

Shimana agrees to everything, as Taiga continues to list his request.

“How many kids do you want?” Shimana asks.
“2. A guy and a girl. And…why are you crying again?” Taiga notices that Shimana is still tearing up.
“…Somehow I feel that I am too blessed right now…”

I feel that…for us to be able to talk about such things normally…

“And…I want you to be beside me all my life. You should always be at a distance where I can hold your hand, and I want you say you love me all the time, ” Taiga tells Shimana.
“That…that was what I wanted to say too…” Shimana cries even harder.

That’s for sure.

“I’ll always be by your side,” Taiga assures Shimana.
“I’ll fulfill every single one of your wishes,” Taiga kisses Shimana this time, on the lips.

From today onwards, we will chase our dreams,
Forever and ever, this will go on our entire lives.

The photographer finally arrives and requests to take a picture of Asahi, Zen, Shimana and Taiga. Zen asks if Shimana will continue to address Taiga as Ooya-san after marriage and Shimana says, “Ooya-san will always be Ooya-san!”

“It’s fine with me. When the kids are born, I will be ‘Papa’ then.”
Asahi comments, “’Papa’ does not suit you at all.”

Indeed, after we grew up to be adults and everyone went on with their own ways,
We would not be living in that same house anymore.
Miku-san did not sell the house away, but she left it empty and said that we could go over to use the house anytime we want.
Although I live in a completely different house right now, the memories of that place still feel like they just happened yesterday.

Taiga pats on the mattress and tells Shimana to come over. “You promised that you would be sleeping with me tonight.”
“Eh~~~I can’t do it! I can’t do it!”
“We are a married couple right, but there seems to be no love going on between us.” Taiga remarked.
“No such thing!”
“Then hop over to my bed!”

Taiga and Shimana, now on one single bed, have their hearts thumping so loudly in anxiety that they could hear one another feeling nervous sleeping together. Just when they were about to get used to the proximity, Asahi and Zen barged into the room.

“Evening! Can we bunk in tonight as well!?”
“I made too much beef stew, so I brought some along with me.”

Shimana is excited about the arrival of Asahi and Zen, but Taiga looks at them with scornful expression – they ruined the best opportunity for him to create lovey-dovey moments with Shimana.

The memories the four of us once shared.
I believe they will continue to go on and on for a very long time.

END.

Cute series are cute series. Nothing you can do 'bout that.

Yumemiru Taiyou - 46

Let's see dreams from now on and make them true.
Moment for moment.

The chapter starts with Shimana reading the Landor’s letter.

He apologized for contacting her too late, but it was all because his father had taken his cellphone, adding “(you can laugh here)” at the end of the phrase… to which Shimana reacts like, what-the-hell-are-you talking-about-there’s-nothing-to-be-laughing-about.

Anyway, along with the letter there're the landlord’s cellphone-number and the key of his new house. He keeps telling how he gained weight since in Fukouka there’re many delicious things. On a sweet note, he adds how happy he is about the notebook for the university entrance exam that they made for him and how he had thought about give up, but every time he looks at that notebook he remembers wanting to become a teacher (awww). He says if there’s one more chance, he wants to get into university, even knowing his father wouldn’t forgive him.

Shimana ends the letter and opening the door she shouts to the boys there: “I’ll go to the landlord’s father now! I will ask him to let the landlord aim for university again!” And Zen pretty much freaks out… or sort of.

Miura abruptly shuts the door saying “Please don’t hinder me, you won’t gain anything from doing so.” Then shimana shows him the landlord’s letter and how his feelings are regarding to be teacher now, and if only his father would understand…But Miura says that’s useless to try to convince that person without thinking much (lol) and if she wants to be listened, she should think of a good way to convince him first and says that when that happens, he will be going with her. Shimana is… surprised. “Miura-san… actually, you are a good person. Aren’t you?”

Miura gives her a grin and she thinks “No... Maybe I'm being deceived now... But it's just as Miura-san said... Just because I say that, he wouldn't change. This way he'd probably never accept anything for the rest of his life. For example, things about me. I have to change him. For sure.”

The scene switchs to Shimana in her room. She thinks she hasn’t talked with the landlord for one month and that hadn't happened until now. She reads some lines of the letter where the landlord says that she can call him anytime she feels lonely, because if she’s feeling lonely he’d be, too (GIVE ME DAT MAN NAO :<!). And pah! Her cellphone starts to ring and… guess who is. THE LANDLORD OF COURSE And Shimana is all smile and tears (btw, this girls is such a cute one, and I simply LOVE the art of this manga <3). She answers and tells him that the letter came today and the landlord is relieved because he thought his father had stopped the letter at some point.

She keeps saying how happy she’s of being talking with him again. And he asks if everything’s okay, if something has changed, but Shimana says:

“I still like you soooo much!”
“Oh, is that so? Hahaha” the Landlord replies. ”Don't tell me you are crying again.”
“I didn't until now!” and then… she cries and thinks that somehow, hearing his voice makes her feel even more in love. She is about to tell him that she’s going to talk with his father, but then she prefers to keep it as a secret, since the landlord would be angry (xD). The landlord perceives her dubitation and asks again if something has happened, to which Shimana changes the topic and so they end talking about Zen. She tell him how the other day she asked Zen “why don’t you go with Saeko-chan?" and that she hurt him that way, but the next day he was just as lively as always...

“So he still likes you” the landlord says.
“… what should I do?” Shimana wonders.
“Isn't it fine the way it is?” the landors continues. ”He needs to forget about you soon. If he keeps on thinking about you, he can't possibly find happiness.”
 “... yeah”
“On top of it, you are mine for the rest of your life...” (HOW CUTE IS THIS MAAAAN. AAAAAH)

Hearing that, Shimana is all “ Eh!? What!? What did you just say!?”
“I'm sure you heard it” he says. “Not saying it again!”

The landlord keeps saying that he wouldn’t like if Shimana is nice to Zen while he’s not there. Shimana thinks he’s right and she really wants for Zen to be happy, that’s why she’d like him to do well with Saeko-chan.

“Thank you, Landlord.”
“Yeah. I didn't do anything though.”
“I love you <3”

And she’s waiting for an "I love you, too."… that doesn’t come (xD) since the landlord hangs up the phone. Shimana feels sad and thinks how her chest hurts and that she feels lonelier than before speaking with the Landlord, because just hearing him but not being able to see him, is really painful. But then she gets an email from the landlord who says “goodnight”. Shimana realizes that the landlord is probably feeling the same and now she feels happy because their hearts are connected. She says to herself that she has to grow up. That she won’t cry anymore and will only call the landlord when it’s really painful. This way, when the Landlord comes back, she will be an adult and he will rethink about her.

The scene switches to Zen looking at the exchange diaries. He writes that he has to apologize (to Tamada) because he still can’t forget about the person he likes. Next day Tamada writes a reply and gives the diary to Zen again. She wrote that she understands his feelings and it’s alright. Because if she wants him to look at her, she has to increase her effort twice or else, so he will be able to decrease his feelings towards Shimana, not erasing them though, since he won’t be able to do that. So, he has to think a lot about Shimana and turns all his memories into good ones so he’ll be happier.

Zen runs to meet Tamada again and thanks her. He feels really happy, like if a weight was taken off his heart. She tells her that he can call her “Saeko”. Then he says she can call him “Zen” but she says that “Zen-kun” is okay since no one else calls him this way. Then Zen just realizes that everyone is calling her without honorifics (xD), Whatever, the say good bye to each other and both of them seems to be very happy.

“Because Zen looked over me, I can look over him now. It would be good, if his feelings would move Forward. To a good direction.” Saeko thinks.

At the house, the guys are discussing a way to persuade Fujiwara’s dad but they’re not making many progresses. Asahi points that after all, going to university and becoming a teacher won't work out without breaking the promise with Landlord’s father. They question if he’d let him do as the landlord wishes if he is accepted at the uni, like a last try. But if he fails with the exams again, it would be back to the same. They comment that nobody would have thought that the landlord wouldn't be accepted since the he was somebody who'd have good grades without studying and he worked harder than anybody for the exams, but he still failed and everyone was surprised. They say it’s very estrange and decide to go to the university and see if they find something about that.

Zen ask if he should go with them to which Shimana says that rather he should write in the exchange diary for Saeko-chan. “What's with that!!! That's not something I want to be told by you!! Why did you say that? Eeeeeh!?” Zen shouts as she leaves. “Yeah, I got it! You're totally uncute! Worse than poop!”

Then he starts to write:

“To Saeko,

Today I wanted to write 2 pages, but I only wrote 1. My eyes must have been bad until now, but I now I think like all the others that you are cute. A looot more than Shimana!!
” (hahaha)

Shimana and Miura have discovered that Fujiwara had been accepted at the uni. But he still declined...and they realized that it must have been his father who cancelled it. Miura and Shimana recalls that his grades were the best of all examinees. He would've been accepted even without studying at all.

“So he must have really, really wanted to become a teacher” Shimana says.
“Yeah... That's it on one hand. But on the other one, he must have wanted to be freed from his father.” Miura keeps saying.
“I can't forgive him!! The landlord’s father!!” Shimana angry says.
“Yup, I'm angry, too.” Miura points
"Eh!? You are angry right now!?” She asked since he looks normal (xD).
“Extremely angry.” Miura repeats with his stoic expression.

Having told to the others what they found, they wonder what they can do. If they want to negotiate with the landlord’s father and be heard by him, they’d need an ally, and Shimana points that there’s one and very strong! So they went to landlord’s father house.

“You are saying, I should let Taiyou take the university's exam one more time. And if he is accepted, I should stop interfering anymore? ...How boring. I had promised to let him do it one time. I won't let him a second time.” He says.

Shimana says that isn't one more time fine? And if he isn't accepted they won’t have any contact with Taiyou-san anymore and cut all ties with him. The landlord’s fathers agrees… but then he says he won’t be accepted, no matter how much he tries. To which Shimana and Zen shout that of course he’ll be accepted!

“Our bond with him won't end even if we die!!”
“What we talked about is a promise, got it!?”
And they prepare to leave saying that they’ll come again for sure.

Asahi says then that he’s really happy that the old man isn’t his father. And he also prepares to leaven along with Miura. The landlord’s father says to him to watch out carefully that “these kids and Taiyou don't meet at all”. Miura apologize very casual and says that he already gave them a letter from the Landlord (aww x3)

“Hah?” the old man says.
“I did help you by making sure that he didn't transfer, right? But since he already has, I won't listen to your orders anymore. And also, it seems that Fumie-san didn't know, that he failed on the exams because of you.” (everyone loves  Landlords, yay!)

And while the old man is starting to argue against Miura, his wife appears (in a pissed-mode) saying that she has heard about the case of Taiyou's exams and she can’t believe how he did something like this to his own son and if he continues restricting Taiyou he will see himself divorced for sure!! “And I will also let people know about your affairs and it were best if you were divested of your superintendent public prosecutor's position.” Landlord’s mom says.

“Yeeeeaaah!! We did it!!” shimana and the others say.
“Taiga-san's Mom is so strong! Or should I say scary?” (xDD)
“Now it's all up to the landlord!”

Later Shimana and the others question if the landlord would be angry because they did something unnecessary, but since he’s such a stubborn (like his father) they really had to do it. Then Shimana decides to go to the same university as the landlord. “I'll study so much that I might die!! I have 2 years left!

“Somehow I have the feeling that it might work if it's you.” Asahi says.
“With your strong feelings towards Fujiwara, it really could.” Miura points.
“Hehe.”
“I'm not praising you.”

Even when Zen says that she doesn’t have to try the impossible, she still keeps saying that she’ll do her best and, btw, Zen should be trying to get along well with Saeko, and that they should try a date or something, at which Zen points that they’ll have one tomorrow and that she doesn’t need to tell him anyway!

“Now, my dream is going to the same university as the landlord. Even though I think he'll just laugh. And my other dream is that the landlord's dream will come true.” Shimana thinks.

At the house Asahi suggests Shimana to call the landlord and tell him about today. “Somehow he mails me every day, asking me "How is Shimana?". That's so noisy. I'm sure, he'd be happy.” He continues.

She thinks that since she doesn’t call him usually, she’s going to write an email first. She texts: “Landlord… I'm lonely.” And immediately the cell phone starts sounding. It’s the Landlord.

“How are you doing? Are you fine?” He asks.
“Wh-... Why... I didn't think you'd call me immediately...”
“That's cuz I'm worrying. I'm always thinking of you.”
“Yeah... I'm happy” Shimana says.

She thinks that the landlord really doesn't change after all... that even when they’re apart he's so warm.

“I was lonely, too. Has something happened?” he says.

And they keep talking, and Shimana thinks after that: “I thought, that when I told him, that he can try again for university, he would get angry, but he was got really happy. When I advance forwards, something surely changes.”
The scenes changes to Zen saying Shimana that Saeko wants to be friends with her.

Saeko: “I always looked at you and thought you were cute!”
Shimana: “Eeeh!?”And they are all sparks and cute girls.
Zen: “Saeko is 100 times as cute as you!”
Saeko: Eh? *blushes*
Shimana: I know!

Shimana keeps thinking: “It will be fine after two years, or even after a dozen of years.”
“I love the landlord very much! He is gentle and cool. It would be impossible to hate him. And that's not only for me!”

2 years later - autumn

At the house Shimana and the others are looking through the window, wondering if the landlord will be coming back today. “What should we do!? If Taiga-san has changed?” they keep wondering:

“What if he has a beard? Or he might be fat.”
“What if he let his hair grow reeeeally long!? Like Yamcha”
“Maybe he shaved his head. Or he aged a lot.”
“How old is Taiga-san now!?”
“He's 24.”
“How old!!”

*Gyahahaha* (I can’t help but laugh too xD).

Then we see the landlord, who's coming back home (<3)

“I can hear all that because the window's open. Crap! It's hard to go in...” he thinks.

And the chapter ends with the sound of the doorbell.

/chapter 46 end

Minchi's notes: Ah, I finally ended using this summary since Meila took all the effort to translate and make the script. I tried to put a lot of details to complement it better with the raws and Yuzu's summary too. Hope it has helped you! I really love this manga, all the characters are lovable and nothing like such a HUGE dramas and that kind of stuuf. Besides, the art is great too. Yay!

Note: This summary is SUPER long.

The chapter starts off with Shimana waking up in the morning and noticing that the Landlord's side of the futon is empty. She looks around the other rooms trying to find him (to no avail). Shimana, Asahi and Zen are left in shock and wondering whether he has already left the house. The doorbell rings just then and the three of them perk up thinking that maybe that it is the Landlord at the door (though one of them wonders why he is ringing the doorbell instead of just entering the house directly as per normal?) Much to their disappointment, it turns out to be Miura. He greets them with a 'Yo' but both Shimana and Zen look totally crestfallen that it is him instead of the Landlord.

Miura: You're not going to greet me? You're not happy?

Zen: DON'T COME HERE WITH JUST A 'YO'!!! WHY ARE YOU HERE?!!!

Shimana: GO HOME!

Miura: (Go home? You're horrible.) So you didn't hear anything from him? Fujiwara sent me an email telling me that he was going to Fukuoka.

Both Shimana and Zen look totally shocked at that piece of news. Shimana speculates that the Landlord must have already arrived at Fukuoka now and thinks sadly to herself that the Landlord has gone off without telling any of them. Asahi asked her whether they should try contacting the Landlord now. In agreement, Shimana tries to call him but they get an 'Out-of-Contact' message instead. Miura (with his usual expressionless face) tells them that it is useless as the Landlord has already turned off his phone and that he contacted his father before doing that which make it seems that this time around, he doesn't want to be found.

Miura: “He asked the post office to send his mails to my grandmother's house.”

Shimana or Zen (not sure which one): “WHY?!”

Miura: “And he asked that this house's lock to be change from tomorrow onwards.”

Shimana/Zen: “WHAAAT?!”

Shimana says in denial, “But he said we could contact him anytime.” Miura says that it is normal for him to tell her that but he has cheated on her. Didn't he just run away before the three of them start to bother him? The three of them begin to wonder, “That's not...That's not possible...Or maybe it is true...”

Then Miura drops the bomb – from now on, he will be living in their house.

Zen: “Wait! What do you mean?”

Miura: “What do I mean? That's because I will take the place of the Landlord from now on.”

Both Shimana's and Zen's jaws drop at that piece of news. Shimana exclaims, “OH NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!” while Zen asks, “What's that? We won't permit it!!”

Miura coolly says, “Oh, you hate the idea? But he told his father to let me take care of you. Plus, you need someone to protect you so I will be your guardian from now on!” Zen yells at him, “Go home! Or we'll call the police!” to which Miura answers, “I am the police.” Miura informed Zen that he will be installing a wiretap to keep an eye on him. Poor Zen becomes almost hysterical - “We don't need it!! Don't take your dream for reality!” Zen then hugs Asahi while crying about Miura, “Something weird happened! Do something, Taiga-san!” To which Shimana thinks sadly to herself that she will not be doing anything about the current situation. She's aware that she has a lot of things to say to the Landlord as a form of farewell but now she couldn't even tell him anything. Furthermore, they are not even able to contact him.

The scene then skips to one month later. Both Shimana and Zen are sitting outside during lunchtime, looking very much depressed. Zen speaks out loud that there hasn't been any news so far...He notices the bentou that Shimana has brought along. It is in the shape of a Power Ranger (?) character. “What a great fighting spirit!” Zen exclaimed. Shimana explains that Miura made the bentou because Asahi-san is attending Manami-chan's wedding ceremony. Zen wonders about the character on that bentou. Shimana says that the taste is pretty normal for something which may have the fighting spirit in it. The two lapse into silence but after awhile, Zen asked whether Taiga-san will ever come back one day. He goes on to say that even if he knows it, he can't help but admit that the Landlord has betrayed them. Shimana objects loudly to that - “That's not like that! After all, it's his father who tricked him! I'm sure he will come back! She thinks about him giving her the key chains. That's the same as when he said, “Let's get married.”

Just then, Saiko comes running towards them and Shimana thinks of how cute Saiko-chan really is. Saiko apologises for interrupting them but she would like to talk to Zen. It's about the exchange diary. She has written something in it and she wants Zen to read it and if he doesn't like it, he can throw it away. She then runs off while waving goodbye.

Shimana asks Zen about the exchange diary and Zen replies that it's because he doesn't have a phone. She thinks it's a good idea and Zen goes all hopeful and asks Shimana whether she wants to do an exchange diary with him too. Shimana answers that she wants to do it with the landlord which gets her thinking about the landlord again - he didn't speak to us since then nor did he tried to contact us.

Zen is saying that he wants to be with her but Shimana objects to that. “You prefer me over Saiko-chan? You have such a cute girl liking you. You should go out with her, Zen,” she tries to reason out with him. Zen screams, “I told you I prefer you! There's only you in my mind! We're going out since a long time ago. Since a long time! My eyes are already rotten so I can't find someone else cuter!” He then scolds her, “Baka!!” and “You shit!!” before running off, leaving Shimana looking stunned.

Shimana is thinking again, that's right...the landlord told me to go out with Zen. It was a great shock and I'm doing the same thing to him (as in ask him to go out with Saiko-chan). I hurt him.

The next scene shows Saiko stomping along the corridor of the school. A few of her admirers calls out to her by asking where she’s heading to only to be told off by a rather pissed-off Saiko. She then sees Zen in a rather dark and depressed mood standing with his head against a corner of the wall. She goes up to him and asks what's wrong. Saiko looks upset upon seeing Zen's super depressing mood and cries, “Could it be that you really hate the exchange diary?!”

Zen replies sombrely, “No...that's not it. I was thinking...how uncool I am...”

Saiko: “Eh?! That's not true! You're really cool! The best!”

Zen blushes at that declaration. Without looking at Saiko, he handed the exchange diary to her and asks her to write something else tomorrow and that she really has to do it.

The next scene takes place in a church. It's Manami's wedding ceremony. Somebody notes that Manami-chan is really beautiful and we have a shot of Asahi agreeing while looking wistfully at Manami. Asahi then asks his father whether he can contact that guy; that guy being Taiga-san. His father says no and Asahi asks his father to inform him if he hears anything about Taiga-san. Just then, somebody calls out Asahi's name. It's Manami and she grabs Asahi in a bear hug. She asks him about her dress; whether it looks good on her. Asahi agrees and says that she's beautiful. Manami smiles delightedly at that. She informs him that his mother wants to talk to him. While walking arm in arm with each other, Manami says that this is so weird since she always thought she would get married to Asahi. Asahi chides her to not say something like that on her wedding day. But Manami says that her husband already knows it and he is happy to see Asahi as the little brother. Asahi replies that he is honored. However, Manami says that she will always like him the most and that he knows that, right? Asahi looks sad at that moment. Manami continues saying that her husband is a good guy and that he caught her heart even though she was already with Asahi...

Changing the subject, Asahi tells Manami that her dress looks weird and that she would look better with a simple one. Manami informs him that her husband said this looks good on her. Surprised, Asahi asks her whether they have chosen the dress together. Then he declares that one day, he will definitely come to take her back and he would have given his life to make her happy. Manami tears at that. She hugs Asahi again and says, “I love you, Asahi.” Asahi asks whether it's ok for her to say that on her wedding ceremony. Manami says that it is fine since they are siblings now. Asahi laughs and tells her in that case, he loves her too.

Shimana is thinking about the Landlord again. How she is still not used to seeing that the landlord is no longer there when she comes home, how when she realised it, she is thinking about looking for him, how he always entered the house by that particular door and how she longs for him to come home.

The next scene shows Miura coming back home and calling out the customary, “Tadaima (I'm home)” greeting which no one answers to. He holds out a cake box to a very listless and sad looking Shimana and Zen. He asks them whether they hate cakes. Both of them answer simultaneously, “Not really.” Miura goes, “Eh? So if you don't hate cakes, you hate me? You're so strict!” He threw the cake box rather roughly on the table. “What's with you two? Why can't we be friends?” he asked. “That cake was expensive! I'm doing my best like Fujiwara did.”

Shimana says, “More than cake, we would like to have news about the Landlord,”

Miura looks thoughtfully at her for a moment but then says, “That's impossible since I didn't hear anything from him.” Shimana then begs him to get out of the house. Miura replies that he can't do that since Fujiwara has asked him to take care of them. “So I will stay here and protect you,” Miura states. Looking very sorrowful, Shimana thinks that the Landlord didn't say anything and he didn't say why he left... Miura observes Shimana for a moment. After awhile, he sighs and says that he will tell them just one thing.

Apparently, on the day the Landlord left for Fukuoka, he has left for them a memo but his father told Miura not to give to Asahi, Shimana and Zen. Miura holds out three pieces of paper. Shimana looks shocked at that. Miura told them not to tell anyone about it and to keep it to themselves. He gave the three of them a paper each. Everyone is in happy disbelief- “No way? The landlord really wrote it?! Once for each of us!! There's our names! What should I do? I can't help crying when I read it? What did he write?”

Zen opens his. Written on it is “Saiko-chan is cute, right?” Zen indignantly yells, “What the hell is that?! Shut up, idiot!!” Shimana asks Asahi about his memo. Asahi's note has “Take a photo of Shimana!” written on it. Asahi is puzzled over the note, “Yes...I can do it...But is it really my message?” Shimana thinks to herself, “I wonder what he wrote to me...I shouldn't expect too much of it.” She opens the note and written on it are the words, “See you soon.” Shimana starts crying in relief - “I'm so glad!”

Miura is talking, “That Fujiwara, he was wondering what kind of face you would make when he said goodbye so that was why he left so early in the morning. He thought that you would be sad so that was why he left without telling a word.”

Shimana is thinking that the Landlord really treasures them. She thanks Miura happily and Miura looks a little touched at that show of gratitude.

The scene changes again to the hospital. Miura goes to visit Shiho again and he brings along with him a bouquet of flowers. Shiho is surprised as she has said before that she just wants one flower. Miura tells her that the bouquet is not something he brought just because she is in the hospital; it is a present for her. Shiho tries to stifle a laugh. Miura asks her why she laguhed. Shiho skirted the question by asking him the reason for bringing that flower. Miura says it's because today is special. Firstly, he wants to apologise for lying about having a girlfriend. Shiho is surprised. Miura explains that he was always coming here to see her face. He wanted to make her happy but one day, people would have to find out about it.

Miura: “You told me that you shared the same feeling as me. But I didn't know already if it was pity. It would have hurt you so I created a fake girlfriend.”

Shiho: “Eh?”

Miura: “Because I couldn't find a girlfriend that quickly so I created a fake one.”

Miura goes on to explain that even if he has a girlfriend, his feelings for her will not change. “I love your smile, Shiho-san. You're so full of energy and I love that. Shiho-san's smile, I want to protect it.” Shiho, feeling touched, starts to cry. “Eh?...You're lying?” she asked in between sobs. “That's not a lie!” Miura says. “Really? I'm so glad...It's like a dream...”

Miura stares at Shiho. He then continues to speak, “I wanted to apologise for a long time...And that day, I couldn't protect you. Sorry for not saving you...” Shiho-san smiles gently before saying, “I heard your voice. You watched me when I was sleeping. Miura kun, each time you came, I heard you telling me that you were sorry. I already heard it a hundred times.” Miura looks stunned - 'I see...so you heard it...”

Shiho: “Since I was in high school, my feelings never changed. I love you, Miura-kun, Because you'll be my hero forever.” Miura smiles upon hearing that. “Miura-kun! You smiled!” Shiho says.

Miura comes back home and calls out the customary greeting, “I'm home.”

“Welcome back,” a chorus of voices greets him back.

Miura is surprised, noticing that it is the first time the three of them have said it. Zen replies that his status has been raised as of that day. Miura says that he is happy to see that they are feeling grateful. He then throws something at them. It's a letter. Miura tells them that it was received today and not to tell anyone else. Asahi, Zen and Shimana look at him with round and shiny eyes. Shimana and Zen cry out, “Miura-san!! We love you!!”

The chapter ends with a narrative from Shimana - “The first letter from the landlord. There is his phone number and his address. And even...a key...”

Shmook's Notes – Hey, everyone. Thank you for reading this super long summary! I was given a translated script for this chapter and tasked with providing the summary, found myself having to put the script in prose form. I suddenly have this incredible feeling of love and empathy for all my translators. Typing a summary is not an easy task. Anyway, my apologies if this summary is too long. I am prone to long-windedness but this chapter involves different scenes for each character so there are a lot of things to describe. Lastly, I would like to thank Chibi Manga and Rosehip31 for their help. Hope you have enjoyed reading this chapter.
