Raws Chapter 03 [HERE]
Akuma de Koi Shiyou Chapter 3
Nanami lies in bed at home, staring at the hand Sena held, thinking that her heart beats faster whenever she recalls the moment Sena dragged her away by the hand. She wonders that surely it's okay to like him now... Until she recalls his mp3 player with the confessions recorded on it. She falls asleep, wondering why that night, she dreamt about the time she was with the boy in her memories. In the dream, they're both smiling, but she says the time of her first love is already over, even if she can't forget that moment, she's no longer the child in her past.
At school, Nanami's friend, Yuko, tells her that has been confessed to by an older guy. She hasn't replied yet because she still likes Sena, and wants to preserve her feelings. Their conversation is cut short by a classmate calling out that someone was looking for her... Which is none other than Sena. (Cue fawning fangirls.) Outside the classroom, Sena asks Nanami if she's free after school. She says she is, but what for? Sena says there's he needs help for, and it's something that only she can do. She agrees to help him out, no matter what it is.
After school on the train, it turns out his beloved mp3 player disappeared when he was out jogging the night before. He had wanted to listen to music (music? really??), but the battery was low so he put it into his pocket, only realising it had disappeared when he got home. Nanami's inner thoughts: "Wait... But isn't this good? Isn't this a good chance to stop those recordings?!" With a stupid, forced smile, she tells him to cheer up, even though it's sad, the only thing he can do is not miss it since he doesn't need such a thing. He tells her not to say stupid things, since what can he do if someone perverted picks it up and uses it in a sick way? Nanami says "We-well... That's true..." when Sena then shoves a map of the park he was jogging at in front of Nanami, saying she'll search the park, whilst he searches the path he took home.
After parting, Nanami thinks to herself that she's not at all motivated to do this sort of thing, until she sees a note on the map with Sena's number and email, telling her to message him if she finds the mp3 player. Suddenly motivated with obtaining his contact details, she hopes to send a text saying "Found it <3" to Sena. An hour later though, after circling the park three times in the summer heat, Nanami sends an email to Sena saying she can't find it. Sena replies that she should message him only when she finds it, and that she shouldn't give up.
Another hour passes, Nanami's sitting with a cold drink, and after her second drink, her stomach starts hurting (from the drink?). After going toilet, she crouches on a bench where Sena finds her. He wants to find the mp3 player before the sky gets dark, but Nanami tells him to go ahead, but he notices her gripping her stomach, sits down and asks if her stomach hurts, and her face looks pale. Embarrassed to say what's wrong, Nanami insists there's nothing wrong and they bicker, until Nanami shouts at him that it’s too uncomfortable to say, so nothing's wrong. Sena gets up and says that she should say things even if it's uncomfortable, even if it's embarrassing, asking if she's taken medicine with her. She says no, and he says he'll take her home, they won't look for the mp3 player for today. Nanami refuses, saying she'll rest awhile, then will carry on searching, and so should Sena. Annoyed, Sena leaves, and Nanami thinks to herself that she wants to help but her tummy still hurts. She walks to the pharmacy to get medicine and sees an embarrassed Sena at the till, trying to buy medicine for period pains. (Hahahaha.) Nanami realises that he misunderstood what she meant by being “too embarrassed” to say her problem, and pushes past some girls laughing at Sena buying the medicine. As she pushes through, she overhears Sena saying to the pharmacist that he doesn't know which one two, but the person he's buying it for is currently in a lot of pain, and he needs to hurry and give her the medicine. Nanami blurts out "Sena-kun, I'm sorry! (But I'm very grateful)" to a shocked Sena, whilst thinking that if Sena comes to like her and stays by her side, she will definitely be happy...
Nanami takes her medicine, and says that she's going to carry on searching, and Sena says that they should stop there as it's getting dark, but Nanami carries on anyway, repeating what Sena said earlier, and mimicking his face: "What if someone perverted picks it up and uses it in a sick way? I definitely need to find it." So they carry on searching the park until they see a random cat with a phonestrap in its mouth. Sensing something off, Nanami follows the cat into the bush, and they find The Beloved Mp3 Player! Sena thanks her, and they start making their way home.
As they are walking, Sena tells Nanami that the real reason of recording the confessions wasn't actually result, evidence, and record (as he said to her previously) the real reason is... Looking at Nanami, he suddenly says
"... Can I kiss you?"
Flustered, Nanami stutters "Th-this is sudden... What are you saying?!"
"It's okay if you don't want to."
"I... Don't mind..."
Sena leans in as Nanami closes her eyes... Only to be left hanging, opening her eyes to see Sena walking away. She shouts after him if he was just teasing her, and that was unfair of him.
Sena: "I'm sorry..."
Nanami: "Huh, sorry? What was that? What kind of joke was that?!"
Sena: "That wasn't a joke. I said, it wasn't a joke. But in the end I couldn't do it, sorry. ..The truth is I can't forget about a girl I used to like. I'm sorry..."
