Chapter starts with continuation of Mariho and Rin`s conversation, where Rin is telling to Mariho that it looks better with face lotion on, when they notice Shitara. Mariho, thinking that she has to talk to Shitara today greets him, and just when she was about to say she wants to talk she trips over but Rin catches her. Mariho tells Shitara she would like him to listen to her today after meeting but Shitara, acting totally childish, interrupts her saying she doesn`t need to mind him anymore and she should behave like she wants. (Is he jealous of RIN?!?!). She is stunned saying what is he talking about and that he`s probably angry cause she was ignoring him till recently. Rin comments that Mariho became cute so she can easily find a boyfriend and wonders if it is better to make some space for her. But just as she blushes he tells her that there`s no way a handsome guy like himself would fall for her so she shouldn`t get conceited. Mariho thinks to herself she probably did get a little bit conceited, and that when she`s with Shitara she is always nervous and doesn’t` have a confidence so she thought that if she gets prettier and braves up, Shitara would accept her. Finally, the sports festival starts. Masa calls Mariho to sit with her, but Mariho is acting strange, shivering and saying stuff like she wants to become a shell. She asks Masa at what is she participating and Masa replies she`s doing game two man-3-legs. Mariho says she`s doing borrow-marathon and a race. Than Shitara, all handsome shows up, but seats far from Mariho on purpose. Masa comments that he should seat with them but girls from class interrupts her commenting Mariho`s new hair style and then ask her if she dumped Shitara since they`ve been ignoring each other recently. They say that Shitara looks so pitiful, what shocks Mariho and she thinks to herself how she didn`t notice that and that she only thought of herself and hurt Shitara.
Mariho is asked to carry stuff in order to prepare track for next game when she hears girls screaming Shitara`s name who is about to enter a 200m race. She also blushes watching him run so fast and of course winning the game. She wonders if she`s asking for a too much thinking to simply confess to him after hurting him like that. Meanwhile, Rin is far away from the game in his thoughts, reading „Honorific language“when teacher finds him asking him what is he doing and telling him to participate in sport games. Teacher tries to get him to feel like participating with others so Rin tells him he will do the cheering. Girls ask Rin to take a picture with them and he agrees but asks what for. They tell him it is to boast with him to their friends. Also they ask him if he has a girlfriend what he denies. Then it is announced that 5th game is starting, and that’s where Masa is participating together with Shitara so Rin says he has to go to see that. Shitara is already tying their legs and says to Masa to begin with left leg, which is their „middle“leg. Masa responds she gets it but then switches conversation to Mariho bringing up that she has a short hair. Shitara comments how she looks like child/soybean (this kanji has various meanings). Then Aira shows up with her partner, commenting she didn`t know Shitara is also participating in this game. Masa doesn’t know who she is, so Shitara introduces her and Aira tells her not to forget her.
Race started and everybody is cheering but Masa starts with right leg and causes them to fall behind from the very start, but soon they catch up with Aira when both pair tripped again.
After the race in toilet, Aira is washing herself commenting her wound hurts when Shitara walks in asking her if she`s fine (cause they are at fault for their fall). Aira starts dramatizing how she scratched and sprained her leg but when she notices he doesn`t really care she literally hangs on him and asks him to take her to the infirmary cause she can`t walk. He sees right through her so he grips her leg asking which one does it hurt because he can try placing it right but she yells that it hurts and she was lying to him. Then she confronts him saying that liking that „unattractive and boring“ girl (thinking about Mariho) is probably just killing a time for him, and that he is probably just curious cause she is a simple girl. Then he remembers how Mariho suddenly started to cry saying it is impossible after all for them so he asks Aira if she said something to Mariho. She sweats because she is busted, but Shitara continues it is his business who will he like and if she wants to say something, she should say it to him, and to leave Mariho out of it because he fell in love with her on his own.
Meanwhile Masa is crying she failed again to contribute to their class and Mariho is comforting her saying she did her best. Shitara approaches, looking like he`s not sulking anymore and sits with Rin. Rin asks him where was he and Shitara replies he had to do something. Finally Mariho`s game is announced, it is a borrowing-thing-race. Rin asks Shitara is his mood better now and Shitara replies it isn`t. then shitara tells him that he just watches people`s reactions and understands everything. Masa asks them what are they talking about but Rin laughs at loud. Mariho is thinking how air between her and Shitara was always awkward and that they wasn`t clicking well from the start, saying rude things so she thought she was hated by him. But that changed during the trip, when she realized he`s a honest man. She notices it`s her turn so hurries up and Masa and everybody are cheering for her. As they start running announcer announce that white-class (Mariho and co) has 96 points with 2nd place and red class (Aira) 105 points. Also explains that they should pick something from the box and get with it to the finale. Mariho unfolds the paper to find out her target is „ a boy he likes“. She is shocked and while noticing that everybody else has stuff like umbrella, glasses etc., starts panicking. She thinks of Shitara but then discourages herself again thinking there wouldn`t be troubles if she asks her homeroom teacher. She rushes to where her classmates are, but having Shitara in mind she thinks how he is sweet and tender. Masa and the rest are asking if she needs camera or glasses, but with her eyes closed she yells it is „a guy she likes“. Now everybody`s stunned and teacher says it is alright if he runs with her, but she yells: „Shitara, please run with me! “
Shitara is shocked but stands up and grabs her hand saying they should run or they`ll lose. They win but Mariho is so embarrassed that she has her eyes closed again, so Shitara takes her to have some privacy in order to talk. He tells her he will kiss her if she doesn`t open her eyes. She (sadly) instantly opens them and noticing him blushes again. He pulls out her paper with assignment and asks her what is the meaning of this. Mariho replies it means exactly what it says. Shitara nods encouraging her to continue, so she does. She tells him that she can`t control her feelings, like when she is embarrassed or her appearance. He nods again, and she continues again, that she likes how he is straight forward and kind. Shitara tells her that he likes how she is always giving her best. Mariho starts producing hawahawa sound and Shitara asks her what does that mean. Then he messes her hair and tells her he thought that her hair was cute before, as well. She is stunned thinking that this is the first guy she fell in love with and he asks her to date him.
Finally, they are coming back to where rest of the class is and everybody is talking how Mariho did a good job, even boys are commenting that Shitara liked normal girls, after all, so Mariho blushes again thinking how everybody in the class are kind and this is the first time she has so much in her life.
