Runway Lovers – chapter 6 (a)
‘I have something I need to talk to you about’ said Katsuki to Yui. Before he could say anything, they were interrupted by some ongoing discussion of the staff at the background. They were startled and Katsuki casually disregarded the topic and talked about something else. ‘You haven’t return to the apartment once after the incident at Tokyo Collection’s fashion show, right?’ asked Katsuki. ‘… you heard of this from… Aki?’ replied Yui. ‘She’s worried. She couldn’t get you through phone either, send her a text, will you? She’s your friend after all. I don’t know what happened but…’ Suddenly, Yui threw a fit and said she doesn’t need Katsuki to pretend as though he cares or what not. ‘I’m not a child. Thanks for your concern but NO THANKS,’ said Yui. ‘Cause it has nothing to do with you!’ Katsuki was slightly taken back by Yui’s word. He apologized daintily and admits it wasn’t his intention to stuck a nose into her business. Then, Katsuki left.
Whether it’s jealousy, impatient, hesitation or pride, it’s just too much to handle, thought Katsuki to himself. ‘Let’s get a drink after work! Say, have you decided on that matter?’ Meanwhile, Yui gloomily walks home while thinking about what her mother told her before. Maybe it is better to keep a distance with Aki afterall, she thought to herself. Yui came home to an empty house, just a Christmas hat forlornly left at the corner of the living room. Memories and memories started overflowing Yui. There was a note on the Christmas hat :
[To Yui,
From today onwards, I will be moving in to the dorms. Although we spent a short time together, thank you for everything.
Yui, I am really lucky to have met you. You look much prettier in person. So this is what a Charima model looks like… Thank you…]
Yui went through a flashback of the time they used to spend together. She wanted to give Aki a call but gave up the idea. [Aki, I do not hate you, I’m just too scared to face the truth.]
Runway Lovers – chapter 6 (b)
Aki, dressed like an office lady, is late for an appointment and rushes down the stairs. But actually she was only acting for a commercial. ‘Good work!’ ‘Are you sure this is your first time? You were amazing,’ said the director. ‘I was really nervous,’ said Aki. Yui, on the other hand, saw everything. Aki realizes Yui and called out to her. ‘Yui, how have you been? Are you ok?’. The situation went awkward. A moment later, Yui was called to stand by for her commercial.
‘Ganbatte Yui!’ Aki called out. Aki smiled cheerfully waving at Yui to give her best. The director handed a script regarding the commercial. ‘Basically it’s the same as what Aki did before, alright?’ ‘Lights ON!’, ‘Camera, Ready?’, ‘And, ACTION! Take One.’ Yui was still day dreaming about what her mother told her. And suddenly…….. ‘Yui-chan!!?’
‘WHAT? Fall off the stairs?’ ‘How’s her condition?’ ‘So far it’s stable.’
‘What was the reason?’
‘Doctor said she was fatigue and needed rest. She might not be able to work on the commercial for the time being.’
‘The commercial’s main character, huh?’
The director of the commercial company is discussing whether to recruit Yui or Aki for the main character for the commercial. Aki was the main model during the Tokyo Collection. Even the experts from overseas said she has great potential in her.
‘What’s the audience target for this commercial?’ said the director. ‘Young teenage girls,’ replied a staff. ‘Yes, the target audience are not fashion experts, they just want to be like Yui, right?....’
Yui had fallen asleep in the hospital bed when her mother came to visit her. Suddenly, she feels all stressed up…
Aki bumped into Katsuki sitting near the bushes where she took her shooting. She was startled, so was Katsuki. Aki asked what Katsuki was doing, and he replied ‘I came to see you of course’ in a flirtatious manner which ended up was just a dumb joke. Aki flushed. Katsuki seems a little bit drunk. ‘Did you made it for the commercial?’ Katsuki asked dully. ‘Yes,’ replied Aki. Katsuki was happy for Aki but she doesn’t feel so herself. She is more worried about Yui’s feelings than her own.
‘I’m…. leaving to Afrika soon…’ said Katsuki. The news got Aki off guard, she was too shock to even replied. Then, it started to rain. Aki’s tears started falling like the raindrops. Katsuki felt the change of the atmosphere and sadly turned his face away. ‘will I be able to see you again?’
