Sensei and midfielder
Even though we were always together, you`ve become distant..
Chapter starts with Nina at school, looking discontented with her relationship, while Miyake happily hangs around his classmates (well, ok, we all know he`s even more crushed by everything..). Then a group of girls from class-1 gathers around Nina asking her if Tachibana could help them with their studies since they are all aiming for Minami High, and their request pretty much shocked her. She remembers Kyo saying to her that he can help her and replies to them, distracted by Miyake at the door ,that she needs to ask him. She is still looking at Miyake thinking“ it really is over..“.
Kumegawa sent Yuiko a message that he`s hurt and can`t move so as to make her come to him. But as he lies down, he says she probably won`t come like that anymore. Flashbacks of their past- he had sent her a similar message saying that his head hurt so much that he could die, and Yuiko showed up in a second saying that she was close by so she dropped by to see if he`s fine. He replied that it`s just a cold and apologized for a recent quarrel, and she also apologizes for being selfish and imposing on him to take her to his game match, making him feel kindda guilty. After they made up, she blissfully tells him how there are girls who buy magazines of him and are jealous of her for having such a cool boyfriend . He looks very displeased by that, I guess that at that time he already wasn`t such a player like what she had thought (she had realized in the recent chapters)..
He teases her if she understands what's dating and if she can 'do it' for him. She tells him that it`s fine and after that, Kumegawa looks at the sleeping Yuiko thinking that she is stupid for doing it with him.
Back to the present, the pissed off Yuiko actually came (much to his surprise) and seeing him alright, she says she`s leaving and turns to go but he yells for her to stop because he really is injured, although not a serious one. He comes to her from behind saying he wants to tell her something but she brushes him away saying that there isn`t anything to talk about. Then he asks her if she will come to see his match. She is stunned by that and he happily continues that he`s glad that she is finally paying attention and that she used to like being invited to cheer for him. Suddenly, he pulls her down on the bed saying that she should embrace him for good luck and while she pleads for him to stop, he continues to say that it will be nice to do it again with the center player (mimicing her bragging ) and asks her if it is annoying that he knows her well. She kicks him away and starts crying out that there's nothing wrong with having a perfect boyfriend. She says it feels great to be able to boast of a popular boyfriend, where everyone will be envious of her. She looks at the shocked Kumegawa and screams that it`s true and she loves to be in such a position. She remembers their recent conversation when Kumegawa said to her that she likes that type of guys (meaning Kyo, as he is popular right now) and says that when he pointed that out to her, she still wasn`t sure if she wants a Sensei or a boyfriend whom with she can boast of.
She went on to talk about his career and says that if he`s not entering a competition, he should just say so, because she had read various comments about him recently and she was worried initially, but soon forgot the feelings as she felt that she no longer knew that cool player whom she was in love with. In the end, she says that she thinks her feelings were just a lie that she had made.
As she`s leaving his place, she remembers Kumegawa`s words and how she had said to Kyo that to betray is horrible and then Kyo had said sorry. She then said to herself softly that it is the opposite, that it was love after all, including now.
Back to Kyo and the junior girls, as promised, Nina brought Kyo to teach the girls from class 1, and they are praising him on how his teachings are easy to understand (even though he has not done a lot). They ask him about school life at Minami high, and about the clubs. He says that all is usual and peaceful, and one of the girls says that she wants to enter the baseball club and become the manager. Soon, Kyo and Nina got ready to leave and the girls thanked them.
Kyo and Nina returned home and Nina`s mom says that dinner will be ready soon so they could have tea in Nina's room in the meantime.
There she apologizes for the digressions during the study session but he says it's alright since he was free. Then looking at her notes, he spotted a mistake and she got upset as she wonders if she`ll be able to enter Minami high. He asks her if she really wants to go there and she instantly replied yes, with images of her and Miyake studying in her mind.
Kyo comments that it is fine then and asks her if she knows why he chose Minami high. Nina guesses that it was due to reasons like convenient location, familiarity and a good baseball club. However, he tells her that many schools are similar. Then he says that Nina might not remember but 10 years ago they were watching Minami high's baseball team on TV, and Kyo said he can`t wait to become a player like that because they are so cool. Little Nina asked if he will also go to Minami high and aim for Koshien and he replied of course he`ll go to Koshien but he`s not so sure about Minami high. Then little Nina told him that since it is near, she can go and cheer for him if he is there.
Nina looked stunned saying she doesn`t remember. Laughing, Kyo says it's natural since she was just 4 or 5 years old, and he also only have some memories in his head.
Nina thought to herself if the reason he chose the school was because of her and looking sad, she calls out 'Kyo chan'.... and the chapter ends J
