Minchi's notes: Since we didn't get a full translation last time, Bikkuri has shared hers (from japanese) with all us (so we can pread the love and all): [Here].

Bikkuri's ramble time here:
I seem to do these rambles with great irregularity. Just to state the obvious. But ahhh here I am again! There are still some of you who’ve not yet put AHR on hold because of recent events, right? XD Don’t leave me! HERE HOLD MY HAND.
I recently came across this Japanese proverb thing that goes something like: “Those who interfere with the love lives of others, will get kicked by a horse and die.”
Haha WATCH OUT NARUMI.
Anyway, this chapter wasn’t too bad, really. Kou got a cold. Ha. Karma. Narumi didn’t show up in person. Touma was adorable. TOUMA’S FRIEND SAJDNASKFLJ. Yuuri was kinda cute (although I’m still disappointed no one’s angry at Kou for being a jerkface wtf). Tanaka-sensei smiled a lot (he looks more like a grown up Tanaka-kun than Kou, really, so I like it when he smiles. Ah, I guess he IS a grown up Tanaka-kun, though. But I mean. You know what I mean. ...Do you know what I mean?) And Futaba was her awesome self again. FUTABA WAS HER AWESOME SELF AGAIN. THANK GOD. As long as Futaba is awesome, I can bear anything.
That’s the short version of what I want to say.
HERE’S THE LONG VERSION:
I’ve been thinking about how Kou put pursuing Futaba on hold for a bit in chapters 16ish-20ish, because he wanted to be there for Narumi until she got settled into her new environment, and how that was sort of okay. I mean. That really was. Sort of. Okay. Sort of. But after the kiss in ch21, it’s not okay anymore. At all. I think that kiss is what makes this situation so terribly BLAH. He’s just treating Futaba like crap now. He seems to have zero respect for her. It’s painful to watch, and SO HARD TO SHIP. Seriously, cannot ship girl with boy who does not respect her. Ever.
Kou is basically the cause of everything that’s wrong with the story right now. I mean, I think it’s much more Kou’s fault that things are messed up at the moment than Narumi’s. Narumi I kind of understand. She’s lost so much by now, that it’s perfectly natural for her to feel desperate at the thought of losing Kou too. I’d be selfish too, if I were in her shoes. (It’s annoying how she seems to have some sort of magical understanding of Kou’s personality and way of thinking, though. Seriously, what.) I just think it’s more understandable for Narumi to be acting unreasonable right now, than it is for Kou. He should have grown a bit by now. Narumi’s appearance in the story was actually a great chance to show some character growth in him, but instead it’s like he went all OH GOODNESS I WAS ABOUT TO EMBRACE HAPPINESS FOR A SECOND THERE. THANK GOD NARUMI SHOWED UP TO REMIND ME THAT IT’S ABOUT TIME TO RETURN TO MY STATE OF PERPETUAL SADNESS AND SORROW.
I suppose it might be revealed later that he really is just still afraid to get too close to people, like how people with commitment issues or whatever tend to pull away because they’re afraid of getting too attached, only to eventually have to go through the pain of losing someone close to them (or whatever it is they’re scared of, I suppose it varies). Narumi’s situation would in that case work as a reminder that nothing lasts forever, I guess. But I’m honestly not sure if that’s what the deal is, or if he’s really just pitying Narumi so much that he’s willing to step all over Futaba for her sake (that’s how it looks like on the surface, in any case). I do think that the only way to redeem Kou at all at this point, is for it to become clear eventually that he’s actually just scared and running away. That’s pretty much the only way his actions of late would make any sense at all, because it really doesn’t make ANY SENSE for him to dump Futaba just so he can support a friend. I mean, that makes so little sense it kind of hurts my brain. It’s just... so... illogical...
...You know, sometimes I’m sure I hear people walking around on the floor over mine. Like really stomping around, and sometimes moving furniture or whatever, and I’m all *shake fist in direction of roof*. You might be wondering where I’m going with this, but don’t worry. I have a point. So anyway, I complained to my sister once (“I HAVE SUCH NOISY UPSTAIRS NEIGHBOURS PITY MEEE”), but then she was like, “But... you live on the 5th floor.” And I was like, “Yeah?” And she was like, “There is no 6th floor.” And I was like, “... … ...WHY ARE YOU RUINING MY STORY WITH LOGIC.”
...So. You see. It’s not like I don’t understand what damage logic can do to a good story. But dear Sakisaka Io, sometimes... sometimes logic is good. Please. Make this make sense. I have faith in you :(
BTW I really do wonder what the heck goes on on the roof of my apartment building. It’s a mystery.
...But nevermind that. Actually, the more I write, the more I’m convinced we’ll get a realization from Kou later on like, I’VE JUST BEEN PROTECTING MYSELF PLEASE FORGIVE ME YOSHIOKA-SAMA BECAUSE I LOVE YOU DEEPLY FOREVER.
...HMMM maybe not exactly like that THOUGH I DO THINK THAT WOULD BE A LOVELY CONFESSION. (Actually, didn’t Ninako have a similar realization in Strobe Edge?)
This is all ignoring how much I hate that Narumi exists in the first place, haha. Ahh, if only she’d NEVER SHOWED UP /sob. But meh. I don’t feel like hating Narumi-the-character, as she seems to be acting mostly out of self-preservation instinct or something like that, and Kou is the idiot for being so easily swayed, but I do hate Narumi-the-plot-device. DEEPLY.
Ugh I’m sick of talking about Narumi and Kou. LET’S TALK ABOUT TOUMA-KYUN <3 AND HIS FRIEND. UCHIMIYA-KUN? HEY. HEY <333 HELLO. CAN I ADD YOU TO MY HAREM. And do you realize how wonderful your chemistry with Yuuri is because all the readers do. MARRY HER.
ALSO PLEASE BE TOUMA’S FRIEND FOREVER.
Anyway, TOUMA IS SO FREAKIN’ PERFECT I CAN’T. Have I ever said that before I think I have yeah I have I CAN’T HELP IT OKAY. I really don’t look forward to watching him fail in his quest for Futaba’s affection. SERIOUSLY. TEARS EVERYWHERE.
Actually, haha. Lately everyone’s all KOxFU SHIP SINKING, TOxFU SHIP SETTING SAIL! AIM FOR THE HORIZON! I mean okay, not everyone. I’m sorry persistent KoxFu supporters, I don’t mean to erase your existence. Actually, you’re probably still the majority. I’m still mostly a KoxFu shipper, myself. Like. 60% of the time. But. It’s just. ToxFu is looking like a very pretty ship right now. You know? Haha, hang on. ToxFu... ToFu. HAHAHA. No animal murder is required to make tofu. Tofu is nice.
I’ve been thinking that like, Touma is really good for Futaba. He’s like medicine for her insecurity. Futaba, on the other hand, is really good for Kou (although he does his best to resist her healing effect), who in contrast is not much good for Futaba lately.
WAIT WAIT KOU IS NOT THE TOPIC ANYMORE. Ahh, I feel a bit like Futaba haha. Like in this chapter she’s all LET THAT IDIOT DO WHATEVER HE WANTS, but in the end it’s not that easy to just stop caring. Omg Futaba-chan, why are we so stuck on him :( TOUMA, SAVE US.
…........Sick Kou was adorable though. Sighhh. Why. Who gave you permission to be cute right now. I did not give you permission to be cute right now. Ugh. Also, no one gave you permission to be all pitiful either, stop that. I don’t feel like feeling sorry for you until you properly apologize to Futabaaaa arghh all these conflicting emotionsss.
At least Futaba is great this chapter. She kind of stepped back and let Kou be an idiot on his own. That’s exactly what I wanted her to do. Of course, she ended up at his house at the end anyway, through the contrivance of Kou’s cold and Tanaka-sensei’s car-breakdown (LOL), but I dunno, I kinda liked it. It was just really adorable of her to wish for him to smile for real again (BAWW TRUE LOVE). I hope she’ll try to support him as a friend from now on, but I’m not really sure what her intentions are to be honest. She’s all, “you can’t stay with Narumi anymore, Kou,” but what does that mean, really? Does she intend to “save” him from her? I mean, I do wish Futaba had SOME consideration for Narumi as well. I know she’s in love with Kou and all, and that Narumi is coming between them, but I would have thought Futaba the type to be a bit more understanding despite her jealousy. Ugh, I don’t know.
Also, she keeps going on about “getting over a broken heart” throughout the chapter, but then at the end she’s pretty much like “I can’t get over it”. At least I think that’s the basic meaning XD It’s a bit ambiguous in Japanese, so it’s really hard to find a good translation. It could also mean something like, “accepting a rejection/failure in love”, in which case she decides at the end that she won’t accept it. Basically, she decides not to give up yet, I guess?
...I’m worried :| Please don’t be too clingy, Futaba, seriously.
Ugh, all I want, really, is a reversal of their roles. I NEED THIS. I mean, it’s awesome that Futaba is strong and full of win and all, but if it’s always just her having to do all the work in their relationship, then I don’t want them to be together. Mutual effort, please. I do have some faith in this happening, because it happened wonderfully in Strobe Edge. Proactive Ren was the best <3
I guess I’m tentatively hopeful about where things will go from here. It should get better, but it might get worse? XD
For the time being, just give me MORE TOUMA.
...AND KOMINATO because OY. Where was he this chapter? In like one frame? *tantrum*
I WROTE A WALL OF TEXT AGAIN. FEELS GOOD.
One last thing. As usual I don’t manage to read much of what goes down in the chatbox, but I caught some of it last month, and these were just so deeply funny to me that I saved them:
[Joe: I want to eat pizza but this bowl of rice looks so lonely...Guess I'll have rice then...Pizza, sorry, it was just because of the mood that I wanted to eat you.]
*dies laughing*
Also:
[jayna: what Sakisaka could do, is make Futaba encounter an accident and survive then Kou would bow down and kiss her feet and beg for forgiveness then when he confesses to her she'd reject him saying that she is no longer in love with him and her heart actually belongs to Yuuri. The end.]
XDDDD I LOVE YOU GUYS.
